Tongan-American and California native Saane Aziza Halaholo is already gaining recognition as a promising, young lyric soprano. This season Ms. Halaholo looks forward to joining Palm Beach Opera as an Apprentice Artist, where she will cover Annina in La traviata, as well as study cover Contessa Almaviva in Le nozze di Figaro and Violetta in La traviata. She will also compete in the district auditions of the Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition, as well as the Sullivan Foundation. Most recently, Ms. Halaholo was a Young Artist at the Glimmerglass Festival, where she performed Edith in Seán Curran’s production of The Pirates of Penzance, under the baton of Maestro Joseph Colaneri, and covered Giunone in La Calisto, directed by Mo Zhou and conducted by Maestro Rob Ainsley.
